STREAMING 101 THE PODCAST EP. 3 – EXTRA! EXTRA!

A dynamic discussion around our new audio future moderated by Damion Mitchell, Head of Integration at the Gleaner Company, with panelists: Rob Connelly of Audio Ventures an audio consultancy with clients such as Gannett/USA Today, Fox Sports (RSN’s) and Metric Media in the USA., Rachel Crocker – Founder, Pirate Audio, and Jeremy Mims – Partner, Arrandale Ventures | Investor, Pirate Audio. 

At Audio Ventures Group, Rob Connelly (click for full bio) oversees audio strategy and planning including custom C-suite strategies, podcast architecture and monetization as well as programmatic planning, smart speaker strategy, news automation and on demand. He is the immediate past Director of Digital Audio for Gannett || USA Today Network and Gatehouse Media, two of the largest newspaper publishers in the United States, where he constructed and was responsible for audio ecosystem strategy and audio PL. 

Rachel Crocker is an audio pioneer and has worked with more than 100 media companies and brands to help produce successful programming. She is the founder of Pirate, a new venture-backed startup bringing affordable, high-quality podcasts to media companies and brands around the world.

As Head of Integration at The Gleaner Company (Media) Limited, Damion Mitchell leads a team of reporters, editors, and social media coordinators integrating news and other content across the company’s online platforms for local and international audiences. In addition to managing the team, Damion maintains an active role as the producer and presenter for the daily video news round up, The Gleaner Minute, and the weekly news programme, Jamaica Now, both signature video productions for the newspaper. 

Jeremy Mims is an investor and the founder of multiple venture-backed companies. He has worked with thousands of local media companies to make them more than $1b over the last decade.

The Embassy of the United States through the Public Affairs section has provided the Alpha Institute a grant to support a series of webinar discussions and workshops focused on streaming audio and video opportunities, development and training trends.
